Debit Card Restrictions

This important message is to inform all members of a heightened situation due to Fraudulent Transactions. Please be aware that we have received notifications concerning the accounts of several members that have been compromised. In order to best protect our members debit card information and accounts, as well as the Credit Union, we have made the decision to limit all debit card purchases to PIN based only transactions for a select category of retail stores.

This means that effective Monday, July 15, 2013, all of our members will continue to be able to make purchases using their debit cards anywhere they shop. However, at the select group of stores listed below, ALL purchases will require you to use your PIN number. You will be unable to use your debit card for a “CREDIT” transaction by signing for a purchase. It will be necessary to select “DEBIT” as the type of transaction and enter a PIN number to complete the sale. (most members are already using the debit PIN ONLY form of transactions).

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our members. If you do not remember your PIN number, you may call 1-800-757-9848 to reset it. This process will take about 5 minutes.

The Credit Union understands the inconvenience this may cause the members who depend on the use of a debit card. However, it is in the best interest of all our members and the Credit Union to take this necessary precaution to safeguard all personal information and attempt to stop the increase in fraudulent methods that have plagued all financial institutions over the past months.

We sincerely apologize and trust that our members will appreciate the importance and need for the Credit Union to install this necessary restriction. We are making every effort to ensure that your accounts are safe from these deceptive practices. Thank you for your understanding while we put in place additional safeguards to protect all members from fraud in the future.
